Now, there are no more leans, hard fouls, or hand checking. That would greatly benefit prime Jordan if he could be teleported from 1988 to this present time. But Jordan, who actually got to play in this league as an aging star with diminished skills, still did quite well for himself. How well did he do? Well, at 38, he scored 50 +, a record. At 40 he scored 43 points. Another record. That was the year before LeBron was drafted. Wait, what??? Jordan was scoring 40 + points as a forty-year-old in the era of Kobe, Shaq, Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Tracy McGrady, Allen Iverson, and Vince Carter? Yep.
Well, what about help? Jordan had less help. He didn’t get to jump from franchise to franchise generating super teams by calling up his friends on a cell phone. LeBron did. He took his talents to South Beach and formed a super team with D Wade who averaged 26/7/5 (rounded up) while sharing minutes and touches with LeBron and Bosh, franchise players and MVP candidates also. Did Jordan ever play with anyone with D Wade’s numbers and resume? No. Some have said that maybe Wade was aging. Aging??
